Honor “Ordinary Heroes” During Red Cross Month

In 1943, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt proclaimed that March was Red Cross Month.  Every year since then, every president has done the same. Red Cross Month honors those "ordinary heroes" who help the American Red Cross in its mission to save lives, relieve suffering and bring hope to people who are impacted by natural disasters or war.

Any time you help other people who are struggling in disaster situations, you too will become an ordinary hero. The actions of ordinary heroes can take them to the other side of the world, or they can be as close to home as their own neighborhood or even their own family. One of the best things you can do to ensure you will be prepared in the event of an emergency is to bring your family together now to make emergency plans.

Part of planning for an emergency is having adequate insurance coverage. To get the insurance protection you need in California, contact Desert Empire Insurance, located in Palm Desert.
