First Weekend Palm Desert

First Weekend Palm Desert is almost here! Starting on February 6th, First Weekend is part of Escape to Palm Desert, which celebrates various cultures and art each month, from November through May. First Weekend is a huge celebration during February, and is the perfect local event for people of all ages.

February is the most popular month for visitors to come out to Palm Desert, which is why First Weekend is one of the best events in town. With everything from preforming to visual arts, the event has something to offer everyone.

The first day of the event, February 6th, kicks off the weekend with four different festivities. Stores in the El Paseo Shopping District extend their shopping hours from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., giving you plenty of time to take home something new. Friday also features the El Paseo Art Walk and The Scottish International Military Tattoo as a way to celebrate Scottish traditions through drummers, bagpipers, and dancers. The American Trilogy – Tribute will feature the songs of Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley on Friday.

Saturday the 7th will feature a free guided public art tour starting at 9 a.m. that will allow you to enjoy a tour of the public art collections in the area. The Gardens Annual Concert Series will start at 5:15 p.m. at the Gardens on El Paseo featuring John Stanley King Band and will benefit the YMCA of the Desert. Michael Feinstein will also be making an appearance at the McCallum Theatre.

The last night of the event, February 8th features three different events to enjoy. It’s Magic is returning for its 59th year, and Jazzoo at The Living Desert is the best way to spend the night with that someone special. Paint Night at The 3rd Corner is the best way to enjoy the afternoon with bottomless mimosas and painting.

Desert Empire Insurance in Palm Desert, California is pleased to inform you of this exciting event this month!
